MPBA Workshops – Yangon

The last week of October saw the Myanmar Publishers and Booksellers Association’s first annual free literary conference and workshop.  Sponsored by Kanbawza Bank and Taw Win Centre and held at the UMFCCI building on Min Ye Kyaw Road, 400 people attended each of the three days devoted to literature discussion and debate.

Day One focused on short stories in the morning and classic poetry in the afternoon

Day Two involved the novel and the essay.

Day Three ended with translation and modern poetry.

Lay Ko Tin, Moe Wai, Ma Sandar, Ye Shan, Min Khaing Soe San and Maung Sein Win (padikone) and 20 other leading Myanmar writers took part in the panel discussions.
