… and for publishing works by previously censored and banned Myanmar writers. For these efforts, Myay Hmone Lwin was shortlisted for the prestigious 2014 International Publishers Association Freedom to Publish Award (one of only two Myanmar publishers to have been recognised).
He is also the founder and director of Myanmar Book Plaza, the largest of its kind in South East Asia, regularly holding events to strengthen regional and international networks with such organisations as the Singapore Book Council and the UKs National Centre for Writing.
An alumni of the renowned Iowa International Writers Programme and a former PEN Myanmar Executive Board Member, Myay Hmone Lwin received the 2014 Salai Tin Maung Oo Award, the most respected independent literary award in Myanmar.
